Basic Printer Head Cleaning (Epson Printers)

🖨️ Basic Printer Head Cleaning (Epson Printers)

If your Epson printer produces faded, streaked, or missing colors, you may need to clean the print head. Please follow these steps:

    1. Open the Epson Printer Software

      • On your Windows computer, look at the taskbar (near the clock) and find the Epson printer icon.

      • If you don’t see it, open the Start Menu, type your printer model name, and select the Epson Printer Utility/Settings.

    2. Go to the Maintenance Tab

      • Once the Epson printer window is open, look for the Maintenance or Utility tab.

      • This is where you will find the cleaning tools.

    3. Run Head Cleaning

      • Click Head Cleaning.

      • Follow the on-screen instructions. The printer will start the cleaning process (you’ll hear movement and noise).

      • Do not turn off the printer or computer while cleaning is in progress.

    4. Check the Results

      • After cleaning, you will be asked to perform a Nozzle Check or Print Test Page.

      • Print the test page to see if the lines and colors are clear.

      • If some lines are still missing or broken, repeat the head cleaning one more time. (Avoid doing it more than 2–3 times in a row to prevent ink waste.)

    5. Final Step

      • Once the test print looks normal, your printer is ready for use again.

    6. 📌 If the issue still persists after following these steps, please create an M1 Helpdesk ticket or contact the ICT Division – CNMS for further assistance.
